PomPom Special Shop

PomPom Special Shop, 2016, Laura Wills.

Pom Pom is a contemporary art space dedicated to engaging children up to 12 years and their families, located in Davoren Park in Adelaide's northern suburbs. In 2016 July school holidays Laura Wills facilitated Pom Pom Special Shop at Pom Pom.

The Pom Pom Special Shop is a fictitious corner store made entirely out of cardboard. This large scale installation gave participants the opportunity to re-imagine part of the local enterprise community. Considering what one wants to purchase, sell or manufacture as well as possible currencies. Participants had the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing design and construction of the shop as well as to draw into the installation. For example, some of the windows were real where as others were drawn, and some of the products were made from cardboard and some were drawn.
