Waterlines, 2019, Laura Wills, Ivan Copley and William Cheesman

Commissioned by The Hutt Community Centre in Aldgate This project aims were to highlight Peramangk history and knowledge through the perspective of a local Peramangk Elder, to enable the community to see the region anew. This project was a collaboration between Ivan Copley, Peramangk Elder and storyteller, Laura Wills, visual artist and secondary school students from Heathfield High School.

Waterlines project set out to explore the historic and contemporary Peramangk connection to Adelaide Hills waterways through contemporary drawing, interactive site specific ephemeral art and collaborative storytelling. It aims where to bring people together with community during special cultural events that connect us to the local environment. Exploring ideas of responsibility, connection and custodianship we have to the country.
